BiiLabs and Their Face Mask Vending Machine

Our startup, BiiLabs, collaborated with Yallvend and developed the first “ medical face mask vending machine”. It is combined with digital recognition technology and mask maps. Simply insert your national health insurance card for verification, and follow the steps, you can get your face masks within 30 seconds.

Currently, there are 3 medical mask vending machines in Taipei and each machine is equipped with 900 pieces of masks for adults and 20 pieces of masks for kids.  The machine is available from 8:30 am till 6:00 pm on weekdays, and 8:30 am till noon on weekends. It is a cash-free machine, so it only accepts payments such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Line Pay, and JKO Pay.  Easycard and icash are also in the payment options(iPASS is excluded). This development not only relieves the queue at the pharmacy but also updates the number of masks on nearby machines in advance to avoid time waste. Since the domestic mask producers can provide up to 16 million pieces of masks, it is important to not only make the purchase accessible but also convenient for the people in Taiwan.

Meanwhile in Europe, Germany’s TV Channel “Weltspiegel” also made a report about this vending machine, saying that it is a creative and great example regarding the situation of medical face masks. Thanks to BiiLabs and Yallvend, purchasing face masks during this epidemic situation in Taiwan became a lot easier!
